BCA

The Bedford Commuters Association aims to promote and protect the interests of commuters and local rail users travelling to and from Bedford Midland and Flitwick Stations. We aim to work closely and co-operatively with representatives of the Train Operation Companies, First Capital Connect and Midland Mainline, and with local government and other bodies with an interest in local rail matters.

The Bedford Commuters Association (BCA) was established in 1973. As an officially recognised body we hold regular meetings with East Midland Trains and First Captital Connect. These Train Operators Companies actively consult us for our views on proposed timetable changes. Among the issues regularly addressed are: safe and secure station car parks, ease of buying a ticket, station and on-train security, over-crowding, reliability, staffing levels and improved customer care.

We lobby the Train Operating Companies, local MPs etc. for improvements to infrastructure (e.g. the fast line platform at Bedford, Car park security improvements), and the relevant Local Authorities for better local public transport integration between bus and rail services. We publish Newsletters three or four times a year to keep you informed of our activities. Our strength and influence is directly related to our membership numbers, so please renew or join the BCA.
